Habitation Youth – Saturday & Sunday 2, 3 October 2019

Habitation Youth – Saturday & Sunday 2, 3 October 2019

Last Friday we had a great evening as the youth all came together for a movie social. We ate a lot of popcorn and sung our hearts out to the new Disney ‘Aladdin’ movie.

This Saturday 2nd November we will be meeting at the Doggett’s household for some dinner together before heading down to the town-wide youth event called ‘The Space’ which involves worship and creative prayer for the youth.

YTO is hanging out with Brooke on Sunday! They will be continuing with Youth Alpha – ‘How can we have faith?’ Come and join us!

Ladies Ministry and “The Feast”

Ladies Ministry and “The Feast”

“Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink – Even if you have no money!
Come! Take your choice of Wine or milk – it’s all free.
Why spend your money on food that doesn’t give you strength?
Why pay for food that does you no good?
Listen to Me and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food.Come to Me with your ears wide open. Listen and you will find Life.”

(Isaiah 55:1-2)

This year, we feel called to prepare a banquet from which us ladies can feast throughout the year, depending on our hunger and appetite.  There are no conditions on God’s extravagant love, but the invitation is there to feast from a table, beautifully laden with choice food and drink.  There will be a number of courses on offer…

STARTERS – Opportunities to connect, cultivate relationships and break down social barriers, providing a place of belonging and acceptance, where we can be seen, heard, known and loved.

MAIN COURSES – Opportunities for spiritual input, equipping and discipleship, providing a place of surrender and accountability, where we can be encouraged, challenged, and built up.

SIDE DISHES – Prayer partnerships, recommended reading and other resources

DESSERTS – Trips, play dates and fun times, a chance to stop and smell the roses, let our hair down and be replenished.

This month has seen the first of a number of planned events throughout the year, as we kicked off on Saturday 14th September with a ‘starter’ and ‘main course’. Upcoming dates include:

January 22nd 2020 (Starter)
March 14th 2020
May 13th 2020
July 11th (Garden party)

– Hazel, Barbara, Ibi, Holly and Kim

POD COURAGE 2

POD COURAGE 2

POD COURAGE PART 2

Well, that’s a wrap for the theme of COURAGE in Sprout/Thrive.

Moses has been such a great example for us of a person who felt fearful and uncertain but chose to step out with courage to trust God. Life is not easy and sometimes the things God calls us to do can be daunting, but courage is always an option for us – especially when we remember that God will be WITH US! Our memory verse has been a great reminder of this truth…

Ask your children – “Can you say the verse?”

POD – COURAGE

POD – COURAGE

For the month of October, our primary school-aged children are learning about COURAGE. We’re looking at the example of Moses and how he lived out God’s call on his life with great courage – choosing to trust and obey God, even when he felt inadequate or not ready or fearful of the consequences. He could be courageous because he knew God was with him.
Ask your children what they’ve learned so far from Moses about courage, and share some examples from your own life to encourage them. See you on Sunday!
