October – November Prayer Triplet Prayer Points

Ephesians 6:10-18 – As a body, our elders and leaders have been teaching on the theme – “Fighting the good fight of faith” and in the scripture passage above Paul encourages us to be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. He tells us that to do so we should put on the whole amour of God (not some).  When we do this, we will be able to resist the enemy (Satan) and having done that still be standing firm!

This month and next we want to pray together in our prayer triplet groups. We pray that not only would see we have God’s amour available for us to choose but also that we will activate it in us and put it to work for us by taking the steps of faith we require to take and resist Satan and his many strategies to hold us bound.

1. Ephesians 6:14 – The truth of God’s word and his righteousness.

Pray that you will have God’s word which is the truth as the centre of your life. It is God’s truth that would strengthen you to stand in triumph like a belt around your waist supporting you. Put on his righteousness as a protective armour that covers your heart. Remember you have a right standing with God who is your Father, and Jesus has given us this access once and for all.

2. Ephesians 6:15 – Pray that you will be a vessel that carries God’s peace everywhere you go as you share the good news. Surrender yourself daily to the Father and ask him to use you to minister his peace to those you meet and in whatever situation that faces you.

3. Ephesians 6:16 – The shield of faith is God’s word that we use to protect ourselves from the attack of the enemy.

Pray that you will increase your faith and learn to trust God and his word.

Hebrews 11:1 says that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you love God’s word, and most importantly help you to prioritise his word first in your life so that your faith can increase. When our faith increases we will be able to use our faith as our wrap-around shield and destroy the enemy and his attacks

4. Ephesians 6:17 – The helmet of salvation.

Thank God for the helmet of salvation that you always wear as this is your truth – you are saved and are a child of God. Anything contrary to God’s word is not yours to accept. Declare that you embrace the power of salvation’s full deliverance, like a helmet to protect your thoughts from the lies of the enemy.

5. Ephesians 6:17 – The sword of the spirit is God’s word.

Pray that you will have a deep yearning for God’s word such that you will prioritise studying and meditating his word top on your list. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you carve out quiet time in the day to learn and know how to apply God’s word in your daily life and times when you need the spoken word of God as a mighty razor-sharp Spirit sword to destroy the enemy.
