Sunday Series

This last Sunday, Andy kicked off our new series “Heroes of Faith” by having a look at what faith is and isn’t. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be looking at various characters from Hebrews 11.
Come and join us for our 10am start at Tree Tops Academy to find out more.

What’s involved?
We need volunteers to pick up, wash and dry weekly, 1-2 sleeping bags and return them to Jubilee Resource Hub (9 Ashford Road, ME145BJ) by the Wednesday following the Sunday celebration.

The Big Question: Equipping and Outing – February

What is The Big Question?

The Big Question is a chance for ordinary church members to adopt a lifestyle of speaking about Jesus and discipling others. Volunteers are invited to partner with God in sharing His love to our broken world by engaging in conversations with people on the street.
Each month there will be an equipping night followed by a morning of going out in different parts of Maidstone.

How can you be involved?

We need volunteers from different churches in Maidstone to help in three different areas:
– part of teams going out
– prayer support
– follow up (discipleship)

It is essential for those who will be going out to attend an equipping session prior to doing so.

Equipping Evening
When: Wednesday 26 February 2020 | 7:30-9pm
Where: TBC

Outing

OUTREACH

Blessing the shoppers of Maidstone this Thursday

Together with a number of Maidstone churches, we will be blessing shoppers in the town this Thursday evening. Come dressed in festive outfits!

If you do not want to give out the gifts, why not come and pray?

When? Thursday 12 December, 6pm – 7.30pm.

What? A special Christmas event for the church in Maidstone to bless the town. It is General Election night and a great time for the church to spread some Christian hope, love and cheer along Week Street.

How? Spend 45 minutes in the Town Centre giving a small gift with the times of all the churches’ main Christmas gatherings. We meet 6pm at the Maidstone United Reform Church, Fremlin Walk entrance, for tea, coffee and hot chocolate, small-time of fellowship with other church members, and then a quick briefing and prayer before we head out to Week Street.

Who? As many people as possible from different Maidstone churches.

Seven Principles to help guide Christians in the run-up to the 2019 General election

Jubilee’s own Andy Faulkner gives us seven principles to help guide Christians in the run-up to the 2019 General Election. Click here or on the image above to go straight to the recorded message.

As mentioned in the video, Engage 19 is a useful and impartial resource that explains the position of each party on a variety of issues that are likely to be important to British Christians and links to party manifestos on their own websites.

Spoiler alert: we won’t tell you how to vote, but we will tell you that it’s your responsibility to vote and to think it through carefully. Watch the video for some helpful advice as you prepare.

LAST CHANCE TO BOOK! Care For The Family – “Left to their own devices?”

Last chance to book on for Care for the Family‘s event – “Left to their own devices?” November 28, 2019 held at St Luke’s Maidstone, ME14 5AR.

From Care for the Family:

“Last week, a BBC article highlighted that for many children and young people, there is often no escape from the school bully at the end of the day. The bullies are still able to reach them through social media and online chats wherever they are.

Next week at Left To Their Own Devices? Katharine Hill and Philip Jinadu address this challenge and share insights on how parents can equip their children to make wise choices and develop resilience online. Plus they’ll share useful tips on how to keep a close connection with your child and enable them to thrive in the digital world. There is only one week left to book your ticket – don’t miss this vital parenting event.”

The Princess Project – Christmas Fair
